Acting Governor and State Senate President, Steve Sweeney has issued a state of emergency for New Jersey.
The blizzard conditions is the reason of course for the state of emergency and there is expected snow fall of anything from a few inches to two feet, with significantly higher falls expected is some locations.
Continued high winds, mixed with gusts or up to 45 miles per hour will continue. Tidal and coastal flooding is to be expected. While snow drifts are expected to cause havoc with driving conditions across the entire state.
The State Director of Emergency Management now has the power to evacuate any residents who he may consider to be in danger.
As of 8:30pm bus services by NJ Transit will no longer operate due to the extreme weather conditions. For the latest updates on the situation, please check with njtransite.com.
There are reports now also that Amtrak have canceled all services between Boston and New York.
